THE WIZARD OF OZ

The undying story of The Wizard of Oz, written by Lyman Frank Baum more than 100 years ago, is a quintessential American fairytale, and has been made into a Hollywood production that is often counted among the ten best movies of all time.

Relying on the musical arrangement of the movie, the play follows little Dorothy, who lives on a farm in Kansas with her aunt, Em, and her uncle, Henry, but dreams of a better place, “somewhere over the rainbow“. One day, she is picked up by a tornado and swept away, along with her puppy, Toto, to the faraway land of Oz. There, she finds out that the only person who can send her back home is the Wizard of Oz. She is accompanied on her way by the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, all of whom wish to acquire something for themselves: brains, a heart, and courage. After many adventures, they discover that the Wizard of Oz is nothing but a poor magician for a circus. Still, all ends well – with the help of the ruby slippers she receives, Dorothy manages to return home.
